Pacquiao vs Marquez – Look Back At The 1st Fight Video

Manny Pacquiao is tired about people saying that Marquez should have beat him, or almost beat or anything of that nature. Manny has made it clear that at Pacquiao vs Marquez 4, he will be going for the knockout, and try to make the fight short.

The first fight between these two was truly remarkable. Manny managed to knock down Marquez three times in only the first round. Everyone thought the fight was over, but Marquez survived that round and ended up taking the fight to decision, where a draw was the final call.

It was later determined that one of the judges made a mistake in scoring the fight, because he only gave credit to Pacquiao for 2 knockdowns, not three, this was the determining factor. Check out more interviews and highlights from the first Pacquiao vs Marquez fight here!

Marquez Responds to WBC President’s Comments

Juan Manuel MarquezJuan Manuel Marquez, the challenger in the upcoming Pacquiao vs Marquez 4 fight this December, has responded to comments made by WBC president Don Jose Sulaiman regarding the upcoming event. Sulaiman said that the WBC could sanction the fight and that the Diamond Title could be up for grabs since there are no titles on the line for this fight. He then went on to say that this fight has no interest outside of Mexico or the Phillipines because there is no championship on the line. He offered to sanction the fight however the WBO will be taking care of this fight and they created a “Champion of the Decade” title for this fight.

Juan Manuel Marquez is not concerned about any belt. He believes that the belt is irrelevant, and that Sulaiman is just trying to get the fight to be sanctioned by the WBC, which is an impossibility now.

“A championship – whether it’s diamond, gold or silver – is not important for me right now,” Marquez said.

“The sanctioning bodies do not make the fighter, the fighter makes the sanctioning body,” Marquez continued. “Therefore, I believe Mr. Sulaiman is upset because were are not fighting for the title.”

“He says the fight lost interest, but in the first day, 14,000 tickets were sold. So I do not see how he could say the fight lost interest,” he said.

There are indeed plenty of people excited and talking about this fight, and although Sulaiman may say that it is  not getting any worldwide attention, all the statistics and news articles being written about the fight beg to differ. The Pacquiao vs Marquez fight this December is expected to be one of the biggest fights of 2012, and fans should be excited, because it will be a real treat.
